📚Book Review📚 "The Plus One Pact" by @portiamacintoshauthor ~5⭐Rating~ With her cousins wedding fast approaching Cara is in need of a plus one, having run through all possible matches on her dating app Cara really has found herself in a pickle more so now that out of spite her cousin has invited her ex to the wedding. When her last date stands her up Cara is ready to throw in the towel, that is until a cute stranger joins her. Millsy is instantly drawn to the beautiful woman waiting nervously at the bar. When he offers her a chance to join him at an exclusive night club he half expects her not to show up, but when she does, Millsy decides to help Cara find her confidence. This leads to Cara's full make over. •• The pair soon realise that they have more in common than they realised and that they could actually help each other out with all these up coming events and so begins their plus one Pact. Adament that they hold true that they are not dating, this however does not stop them from getting closer while they get up to mischief at every event that they attend. With feelings starting to reach boiling point between both Cara and Millsy all it takes is one drunken bachelorette party to change everything. But with Cara's predisposed idea of Millsy being a ladies man, will she allow herself to believe he will catch her when she falls for him. •• I loved this novel! I was completely sold on the blurb and once I started reading I just could not stop. It was impossible not to just love these two characters. If ever there was a book that I wanted to shake the leads to get on with it and admit to their feeling it was this one! A major theme through out this book was family, and did they ever add to the hilarity of this novel. I loved the relationship that Millsy had with his step grandmom. As for Cara's family well I loved that they just fell in love with Millsy but I could not stand the aunt and cousin. I have to say one of my favorite moments was when Millsy and Cara had to save the his grans dog who got stranded on the island in the loch. •• Overall this was a brilliant read. There was no major drama but loads of mischief. #theplusonepact #portiamacintosh #bookblog

🌟Happy RELEASE DAY to the PLUS ONE PACT🌟⠀ ⠀ Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC ⠀ ⠀ This was a light romantic comedy. It reminded me Plus One (the movie) combined with Bridget Jones' Diary. ⠀ ⠀ I would recommend this one if you're interested in⠀ ⠀ ♥️Friends to lovers⠀ ♥️British romance and humor⠀ ♥️Slow burn⠀ ♥️Wedding and family hijinx⠀ ♥️A dog who forgets sometimes he can't swim⠀ ⠀ The Plus One Pact is fun. 💕The Plus One Pact – Portia Macintosh. Today is my stop on The Plus One Pact Blog Tour. I really loved this cute and fresh take on the classic will they, won’t they romcom. This book is set in Leeds and straight away I really liked the character of Cara. She has the super cool and interesting job of designing escape rooms and I loved her geekiness and sense of humour. It was hilarious and cringe worthy to read her suffer through some awful dates that she found while using the dating app ‘Matcher’. I’m sure anyone who has used dating apps will be able to relate to the dates she endures. It’s after a no show from her last hope match that she meets Millsy – Joe Mills and we get to discover how their friendship develops when they make a pact to be each others Plus Ones at all the events they have coming up. We get to meet their family, friends and some unwanted faces from the past that lead to a series of mishaps and entertaining scenarios. One of my favourite characters is Joe’s 85 yr old gran Iona she is just the coolest and such an adorable lady. I loved the references to music and tv shows scattered throughout this book. It’s what gives it a much more current and fun vibe compared to other books from the same kind of genre. This is the perfect uplifting summer read. So make a pact with me and promise to check it out. https://amzn.to/2HJQnC2 . . . . . . . . . . . #netgalleyreads #netgalley #contemporaryromance #contemporaryromancereads #contemporaryromancebooks #romcombooks #romcom #plusonepact #chicklitreads #chicklit #boldwoodbooks #boldwoodblogtour #boldwoodbloggers #feelgoodread #mlemaylife #mumingxinmay #summerreads #portiamacintosh #slowburnromance #quirkygirl #geeklife #plusone #familyfeud #bookrecommendation #bookcoverillustration #beautifulbookcover #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #currentlyreading #fridayreads

The Plus One Pact- The fantastic new book by Portia MacIntosh! I’ve read most of MacIntosh’s books in the last few weeks and I absolutely love them(I’d highly recommend Drive Me Crazy and Honeymoon for One if you’ve not read any of Portia’s work!) • • After reading Truth or Date I was so excited to hear about Millsy and his love life, safe to say I was not disappointed. This book follows Cara on her journey of finding her true self with the help from her new best friend Joe ‘Millsy’ Mills. They decide to help each other out with the multitude of events taking place that summer and become each others permanent plus ones, where they help each other get into all sorts of trouble. This is a lovely, funny read filled with friendship, self-love and of course… romance! A very uplifting read, I would definitely recommend! This book is available on the 21st of May, definitely worth a preorder! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ from me! -Rhiannon • • • #portiamacintosh #theplusonepact #truthordate #currentread #book #bookblog #bookblogger #romance #chicklit #bloggersofinstagram #bookreview #romancenovel #kindlebook #ipad #bookrecommendation #bookstagrammer #booksofinstagram #bookclub #bookish #bookshelf #bookcommunity #reading #romancebooks #bookishlove #goodreads #igreads #readersofinstagram #mustread #bibliophile #netgalley

❣️Tell me about your worst ex 😅 . My Current read: My Great Ex Scape by @portiamacintoshauthor for release Jan 16 reminded me of awful ex stories. I have so many 🙊🙊 . SYNOPSIS: “What if your future was somewhere in your past? . Rosie Jones has been dumped by every boyfriend she’s ever had – most recently by Dinosaur Dave, live on TV, during the ‘phone-a-friend’ segment of a quiz show. After the footage goes viral Rosie receives a bunch of flowers with a message: I love you, I should have never let you go, I want you back x . But who sent them? . At a loose end and with £50,000 prize money in her back pocket, Rosie decides to take a trip down memory lane, visiting each of her ex-boyfriends to see not just if they are the one who sent the flowers but if they are the one. . Her journey takes her back to the house she grew up in and on a transatlantic cruise to New York, but can Rosie figure out which ex-boyfriend is the love of her life, or should the past stay in the past?” . Massive thank you to @portiamacintoshauthor, @netgalley and @bookandtonic for allowing me access to this ARC ❤️ . . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookworm #bookblogger #fiction #whatiread #bookofthemonth #bookrecommendations #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookish #books #goodreads #booksofinstagram #booklover #bookphotography #chicklit #romance #contemporaryromance #booksharks #booksparks #amyleabooks #mygreatexscape

Happy #socksunday friends Today is my stop for the @bookandtonic blog tour for My Great Ex-Scape by @portiamacintoshauthor First off I saw Portia take over the book and tonic page the other day and it was so fun! Secondly this book was amazing! Another romance that was enjoyable, fun fast paced read! QOTD have you ever gone back to evaluate why you didn't work out with an ex? We meet Rosie, the main character on a game show about to win £50000, the inky problem is she doesn't know the answer. She decides to use a life line to call her boyfriend, who happens to be a dinosaur expert. When she calls she says I have one big question to ask, Dave gets nervous and thinks she's going to ask him to marry her, he's not ready. Without even giving Rosie a chance to ask her question Dave dumps her on national tv. Rosie the amazing person she is holds herself together until she gets home. Rosie then receives some flowers that allude an ex is sorry they broke up and would like to get back together. The Flowers don't say who they are from, just her luck. Rosie quits her job, decides to visit her parents and revisit all her ex's to try and figure out who sent them. She visits Dave first which was a horrible mistake. Then Eli, who is now gay, but would like to rekindle their friendship they once shared. Rosie then finds herself on a retirement cruise ship with her parents and new found bestie Eli to track down the last 2 exits. Sounds totally normal life right! This was such a fun adventurous story. I loved following along with Rosie on her adventures while she was trying to figure out who the flowers were from. I loved the flow of the writing, the quirky and loveable characters, and will definitely be checking out more id Portia's writing in the future. #boldwoodbloggers #boldwoodbookstour #mygreatexscape #portiamacintosh #bibliophile #bookcommunity #booksinspotlight #teatimewithabook #reviewsneedlovetoo #notjustaprettybook #romcom #bookish #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #booknerd

🛳 Book Review for My Great Ex-Scape by Portia Macintosh 🛳 Thank you for my ARC @portiamacintoshauthor @netgalley . This was a fun, chick lit read with plenty of laugh out loud moments. Just what was needed after some intense books. . Imagine being dumped live on tv and winning 50,000 at the same time….. . Could a bunch of flowers send you on a trip to track down all of your ex’s and end up in New York. It can if you are Rosie and are clearly not thinking straight. I really liked Rosie and think a lot of us women could relate to her. We have all been there dumped, brokenhearted and are quick to jump at a new adventure or act crazy! I was interested to know if Rosie could turn her heartbreak around after being so unlucky in love. Without giving too much away Rosie had a right mix of ex's ranging from the lovely one you would totally want as a best friend, the sweetheart marriage material one, to the player you would not want to go near! I really loved Rosies relationship with her parents and also the strong bond and many laugh out loud moments she had with Eli. The swimming pool chapter was hilarious! . This was my first Portia book and I really enjoyed it so will definitely be reading more of her books. I also really want to go on a cruise now, just maybe not a silver linings one! If you read it you will get why – haha !

BOOK REVIEW⠀ BOOK: My Great Ex-Scape AUTHOR: Portia MacIntosh @portiamacintoshauthor This was one of the quickest reads since the beginning of the year and I gotta say… I AM A FAN. We just went on a cruise at the beginning of December, so I was excited to read a book about cruising. Rosie gets dumped in a very public way, but ends up connecting with multiple exes. It’s a very simple premise but no less entertaining because of the antics Rosie finds herself in. I personally love these type of books (like the Shopahoic series) which makes you fall in love instantly with a heroine who is definitely human. Short Synopsis (from Goodreads): Rosie Jones has been dumped by every boyfriend she’s ever had – most recently by Dinosaur Dave, live on TV, during the ‘phone-a-friend’ segment of a quiz show. After the footage goes viral Rosie receives a bunch of flowers with a message: I love you, I should have never let you go, I want you back x But who sent them? At a loose end and with £50,000 prize money in her back pocket, Rosie decides to take a trip down memory lane, visiting each of her ex-boyfriends to see not just if they are the one who sent the flowers but if they are the one. Her journey takes her back to the house she grew up in and on a transatlantic cruise to New York, but can Rosie figure out which ex-boyfriend is the love of her life, or should the past stay in the past? ***** I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. It’s gardening time here at my place! What are you up to today? • This is a super enjoyable easy read! I loved the premise of old friends meeting up at a wedding after not seeing each other for a long time. • Luca is on her way to her University roommate's wedding, where she is planning to meet up with all her old roommates. They are such an odd ball bunch and every time they are together they revert back to how they acted and interacted with each other at Uni. Secrets come out, old boyfriends and potential new suitors, definitely make this a wedding to remember! • Overall, I found that the pace moved quickly and kept in interested through out the whole book. The story takes place over 24 hours or so but is interspersed with flash backs from University days, that show you how events shaped Luca and her friends into the people they are 10 years later. There are lots of funny and sweet moments that will have you chuckling as you read it. • Thanks so much to NetGalley and HQ Digital for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. • Synopsis in Comments!
